Beyond The Screen

Final exhibition showcasing two installations where each represent two contrasted method of creating animation

Beyond the Screen (2024) explored two contrasting approaches to creating motion: the illusion of movement through frame-based animation and the tangible motion generated by a haptic device with 208 servo-controlled pins. The translucent 150x200cm screen served as a bridge, uniting these methods while incorporating touch as a central element. Touchable frames, arranged sequentially, invited physical interaction with the motion illusion, while the haptic device transformed animation into a tactile experience, allowing viewers to feel kinetic motion through their hands. The exhibition combined tactile, sound, and visual elements, creating an embodied viewing experience that challenged traditional animation boundaries and invited deeper sensory engagement.
