..On Walking Home

…On Walking Home is a solo exhibition marking Bharoto’s return to Indonesia after completing his PhD. The exhibition features several works, including Departing (2021), Walking No.1 (2022), Beyond the Screen (2024), and Walking Home (2026).

The exhibition is divided into two spaces—Semesta Room and Lentera Room—each presenting different stages of Bharoto’s expanded animation practice. The Semesta Room introduces the research trajectory through three key works: Departing (2021), Walking No.1 (2022), and Beyond the Screen (2024), tracing the development of animation from screen-based presentation toward spatial and tactile installations. The Lentera Room presents Walking Home (2026), a participatory installation where visitors are invited to create their own tactile frames using clay and surrounding materials. These audience-generated frames are periodically collected and composed into an evolving animation, allowing the exhibition to grow through shared tactile experiences.
